Grain Sack Pillow

A friend was moving and trying to get rid of things. I was the lucky person who happened to be in town that day!

She gave me this neat old grain sack.

I took an Ikea pillow insert and pinned the fabric around it.

It then sat on my couch with the pins for several weeks...

Today I sewed it up and now it's good to go. I love the colors and graphics!

Thanks for your visit!

Home Goods and Pier 1 Happy

I love shopping at Home Goods and Pier 1.  Last week I was in Home Goods and found this pretty wreath.  I love the springy look of it.

I also found this great big blue vase.  I love the color, love the size and the texture of the jute around the top.

I like that these items add a little interest to the corner behind the couch.

I love these carrots that I found at Pier 1.

Here is a picture of our back patio from this morning.  I'm thinking that a backyard party is out of the question for a bit...

Thanks for your visit!  For those of you able to garden right now, I am officially jealous!

Bicycle Art for the Living Room

We went to Southern California on vacation a couple of weeks ago.  The vacation started with a family reunion on a lake, then to the beach to see friends, then out to the Palm Springs area to spend time with more good friends.  We had a great time!   While in the desert, my good friend and I hit Home Goods.  As soon as I saw this picture, I was smitten!

I love canvas art, love flowers, love the bike, love the colors....  But, I had recently found a piece of typewriter art that I loved too.  I thought about it overnight, then rushed back to Home Goods and luckily it was still there.  I decided that I would change out the art as I change out the pillows with the seasons since I love both pieces.

I found these blue/green ticking pillows at Pottery Barn.  (I made the little pillows years ago)

I made this pillow recently.  You can see how to make one HERE.  I have a neat bicycle graphic that I will use on another pillow.  (The darn job is certainly getting in the way of all of the crafts I want to do!)

I found this birdhouse at Home Goods too.  It was on clearance. I love when that happens!

My sister and her boyfriend sent these beautiful flowers.

Thank you for your visit!

Some Comfy Pillows, A Birdhouse and it's Done!

I think I'm finally done (for now!) with our living room.  In my past couple of posts, I've shown where we've added the new couch and new typewriter art.  Today I was at Pottery Barn and found a couple of very comfy pillows for the couch as well as a neat birdhouse to hang on the wall.  Yes, I probably needed another birdhouse like I needed a hole in my head, but that's the way it works around here!  :)

The pillows are like sweaters--very soft and comfortable!

I love the size of the birdhouse.  It even came ready to hang on the wall.

My husband didn't like the blue chair in the corner, so now we have the ottoman there.  Of course with the soft throw on it, the cat has claimed that spot.   I ended up flipping the rug and table and am happy with it this direction.

Thanks so much for your visit!

My "Type" of Art

When we got our new couch a couple of weeks ago, we had to move some furniture around in the living room.  We ended up with a wall with nothing on it.  (shocking!)  :)  I've shopped at several places recently, but just couldn't find the perfect piece for that spot.  I wanted something that was unique and fun.  I found it today!  I think it is perfect for us,  since we collect old typewriters.

I'm getting closer to finishing the room.  I have my eye on some new pillows and some things for the other side of the room.  Stay tuned for more updates.  :)

Thanks for your visit!

Living Room Transformation

Our new couch was delivered yesterday.  I am so excited to work on the living room.  It is attached to the kitchen, so it is used a lot!

(I have to find something to put on the big empty spot on the wall.)

I love that there is now lots of seating.

I love these pillows.  I saw them in the Sundance catalog and they were way out of my price range.  I was in the Sundance outlet a few years ago and there they were!

I was able to find a place for my 'new' chair.

The end table that we redid this summer fits nicely between the two club chairs.

I like the little bird here that I bought on our recent trip to Chicago.

I have to keep my apothecary jars in a spot where the cat can't constantly get near them.

Thanks for coming by!

Pam
